Our firm was originally established in 1952 by Anthony Markham, who was joined by Bayne Geikie, a wartime friend.
Mr Markham and Mr Geikie have passed away, but over many decades they established a solid reputation for honest and reliable legal services under the name "Markham & Geikie", which we have retained with pride.
Philip Farrugia and Paul Farrugia, the current partners, first joined the firm in 1977. They had both graduated with a Bachelor of Law from Sydney University and had established their own firm called Farrugia & Co. Because they had studied Income Tax Law at Sydney University, they introduced to the firm the ability to do Income Tax returns and represent clients in disputes with the Australian Tax Office.
Both our legal work and income tax work have grown substantially over the years and we are now assisted by Emma Kelsen, an accountant, Millie Poljak, a lawyer and Jamie Robson, a conveyancer, along with our support staff.
Over time we have established Legal Ease Property Loans, our own mortgage service which offers cash rebates to our clients.
We have recently created a working relationship with Retireinvest, a well respected financial advisory service established in 1979.
Our clients can now regard us as a value for money "one stop shop" which can attend to almost all their legal and taxation needs and can introduce them to a reliable mortgage service or financial adviser.
